The photographer at the party finally put up pictures! :]

Aqualad looks good in that last picture doesn’t he? One of my favorite pictures. UNFORTUNATELY, you can see where the body paint rubbed off onto his shirt! He forgot about the paint before it dried -___-

Aiya~ Looks like my previous post showing off my two friends Superboy and Aqualad got more popular than my Robin one. Not surprising though. They are quite attractive looking guys aren’t they? Here’s a better look at their faces, though the picture quality from my phone still isn’t that great. I wish you could see their eye colors! Superboy’s is a vivid blue and Aqualad’s is a pale gray. Again, better pictures will be put up soon. They also have Facebook pages! Gasp! Yes, I mentioned FB here on tumblr. So sue me, unfollow me, whatever. I don’t discriminate against other social networking places. Anyway, both are somewhat active in the Youtube scene so go like their pages and get to know them a bit better (I admin for both public pages, muahaha) :] Superboy Aqualad

Superboy and Aqualad shirts

Alright so I’m going to take a quick break from studying for my advanced accounting exam to talk about my friends’ (Superboy and Aqualad) shirts. It’s really unfair because their costumes were so much easier to do than my Robin one. Ugh.

So for Superboy, all he did was buy a short sleeve Under Armor brand compression shirt, turned it inside out because of the logos, and went to a t-shirt print shop to ink on the Superboy symbol. Under Armor has excellent quality compression shirts and so it’s pricey. You can always go for any other brand spandex or compression shirt so long as it’s skin tight. Or you can just get a plain ol’ black cotton -shirt and print the symbol on it. I think getting a compression shirt is best because it hugs the body, and if you have a really nice body like my friend, then it’s definitely the way to go.

So for Aqualad, I had him buy a Nike athletic compression shirt. A bit cheaper than the Under Armor, which we also considered, but I liked the red color from the Nike better and I wouldn’t have to cut off the sleeves. Less work for me! Now for Nike I was better able to scrape off one of the logos. Unfortunately the ones at the bottom were pretty stuck on there and I would have put holes in the shirt before they came off. For the lines I just took measuring tape and two rulers to take measurements and try to make the lines even. This took sooooo many hours but I managed to do it. Unfortunately, you can barely see the lines in pictures so I’m going to have my friend give me back the shirt so I can thicken the lines.

Now I’ve seen a lot of Aqualad cosplays where the guy just wears a red tank top/wifebeater, and I suppose that works, but I personally feel the look of the athletic compression shirts are much better and of higher quality. Of course it would cost more than just getting a tank, but I’m a stickler for cosplay details. Despite that, my skills and abilities in creating cosplays are limited as I’m still an amateur :/

I honestly wish I could have gotten black glow in the dark body paint for the eels on Aqualad’s arms. There weren’t any blacklights at the party but the effect itself would be pretty awesome if you think about it. Oh well.

Yup. Just some random information juuuust in case anyone was wondering. Back to studying now.

(YUMMM, those abs!) <3 Better quality/professional pictures should pop up within a week. There was a photographer hired to take pictures at the party. It took so long to dye Aqualad’s hair, paint on the eels on his arms, draw the gills, and get his contacts in that my photographer friend didn’t have enough time to do a photoshoot. Yes, I did all the work on Aqualad’s costume -___- I’m also VERY unhappy with how Aqualad’s shirt turned out. I’m going to take the shirt back and thicken the lines! Done with the front of my friend&#8217;s Aqualad shirt. Just need to scrape off the rest of the logos down at the bottom. About 1/4 done with the back and my only sharpie is low on ink. Siiiiigh.
